“Write Quick (Only Mike’s can Keep It This Funky)/For Skip Bayless n’em”
*I’m simply a messenger*
He QUIT on Chicago — if we gonna talk about being loyal, and how fans act about current guys — because he was going to lose Phil — and probably, most likely — Pippen, as well.
In essence, Mike didn’t want to go thru a rebuild and play with young guys and try to win. He didn’t press, as the greatest player of his generation, for his organization to make moves and instead, simply reload.
And he only came back to play for the Wizards, because he had an ego; as well as ownership prospects automatically waiting, because he was the greatest thing the game had ever seen — and arguably still is, today, for some.
We’ve run out of superlatives to describe Mike. People universally, usually only rattle off three “Mikes” when they think of one, outside of anyone they know, personally: Jackson, Tyson, and…His Airness.
But the other truth is still the truth. And that’s forever and way worse than being “soft.”
(This is how you “rant, Ye — trust me — pressing the issue lessens the chances of her missing you. Free game.)
Game over.
