“Streaming Is On Fire — Will Streamlining Finally Pay Back The Viewers?”

Netflix. Hulu. Disney Plus. HBO Max. Pluto TV. Tubi. What I propose is common sense, really. Fans hate “superteams,” unless that team is their favorite. The casual observer doesn’t watch other teams. Not because those other teams are trash — to the casual, it’s a loyalty thing. Brands run shit. They run you, and you allow it. But hear me out…

What if we could see a couple of “supermergers?” Imagine HBO Max and Netflix on the same team, versus current Disney Plus and Hulu, and with Tubi coming off the bench with all of the cult classic or stoner culture movies you love.

But instead, also bring in syndicated television networks for every “superteam.”

Or allow other, smaller networks trying to get off the ground, into the game. There’s a market for everything, and while Byron Allen is constantly tied up in court; Monique not getting her paper; and internet forums debate and critique and ponder days and shows gone by — television as we know it, needs a change, much like baseball needed the Negro Leagues — and not in the, “hey, let’s just bring one of these guys in, first” way.

Streaming platforms/service providers are building leverage that maybe they aren’t sure about. Maybe they are and the Goliath known as television (CBS/Viacom, etc…) is trying to hold onto their last whole pie, in the hopes that patrons will take whatever is being served on the overpriced menu.

Include apps, such as Vanity Fair, IMDB, GQ, Bleacher Report — and stop half-assing the interactive life.

Otherwise, Facebook will have everyone wearing Oculus, and I’m not ready for reality/virtual reality-hopping.

Give creators their money.

And give those who love what is created, their money’s worth.
